Community
Petition

The Hornsey community is calling on Haringey Council to approve a modest expansion of the pétanque courts in Priory Park.

Despite the benefits (see below), the council has refused to approve the expansion. In response, the community has launched a petition as part of a campaign to demonstrate widespread public support for this improvement. Please sign now!

The proposal has strong local backing and offers significant public benefits, including:

-
Meeting growing demand for playing pétanque, an easy-to-play sport enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
-
Making better use of an underused space.
-
Improving park safety by adding safe pathways.
-
Enhancing community well-being and reducing isolation, particularly among older residents.
-
Supporting local businesses by increasing use of the park.
-
No cost to taxpayers as the project is entirely community-funded.
